Amorgos

This windy island holds a special place in my heart. After spending a couple of long summers here, I have come to the conclusion that it is this place which reminds me the most of my home in Costa Rica. How come though? Is it the kindness of the people? The care put into every meal? The connection that the local people have with the land? The people are soft yet the land is rugged, rough, windy, cliffy… One extreme to another: you have the deep blue of the Aegean, the never-ending howls of the wind which rip through the olive groves and bushes of thyme, the stillness found in the lyme-white mountain cities adorned by stray and cared-for cats. Amorgos is an island of many wonders, spaces, extremes, and feelings. Through these images that I have captured over my summers, I hope to evoke these aforementioned harmonies. This island is magic.
