“Home on Film” is a small series I made with my Nikon A1 back in New Years of 2025. This was my shortest trip back home to Costa Rica, only being one week long. Desperate to try to hold onto every minute I had, I became inspired to photograph places and settings, that would otherwise be mundane in my upbringing, through film photography. There is something special about shooting in film: how not only are you freezing time and space around you in the most manual of ways, but how film is ultimately a tangible medium. With these photographs, taken around my childhood home, on the ferry, at a sunset, and overlooking the Gulf of Nicoya - I aim to freeze these moments that used to be so mundane to me, which I now cherish with its tangibility even more.
